Len Harris

A native San Franciscan, now a 17 year resident of Alameda, Len Harris got hooked with the radio bug at an early age growing up listening to Don Sherwood, Big Daddy Tom Donahue, Russ The Moose and all of the great DJ's in the 60's and 70's in the Bay Area. He became a DJ in a small market in 1966 which provided for lots of fun and little money. As a holder of an Amateur Radio License and an FCC First Class Radiotelephone license, he was encouraged to pursue the technical side of broadcasting. Continuing with announcing duties and learning technical skills, he became more involved with the technical end of radio broadcasting constructing, building and maintaining studio and transmitter sites. He has been a Chief Engineer and later a Regional Engineering Manager for a group of stations in Northern California. Len holds an FCC Commercial General Class License and an Amateur Extra Ham Radio License.
